ELISABETH GIRARDIER, is the Treasurer of the Sangay Foundation. Born in Switzerland, during 16 years she worked as School Councillor and President of the Women Commission of the City of Balgach, in the higher basin of the Rhin River. She is a painter, and she already gave many expositions of her paintings and watercolors; she is also a writer and author of TOBI, a book especially for children, whose royalties have been devoted to Alao. Actively involved in the conservation of Nature, within and without Switzerland, she promotes and sustains projects of auto and ecodevelopment in rural Ecuador and Tibet. She decided to devote part of her life to Sangay Park and to the conservation of its fantastic wilderness, to help to preserve its biodiversity unique in our world, and in danger. She is a member of UNICEF, and lives in Balgach with her husband Gilbert and their three daughters.
